After graduating from the University of Istanbul, School of Communication, she had a Master’s Degree and a Doctorate in Public Relations at the same university. She has worked as a faculty member in several departments of different universities such as Department of Public Relations and Department of Sociology at University of Istanbul, Faculty of Communication at Aydin University of Istanbul, Chair of the Department of Visual Communication Design at University of Economics and Technology of TOBB (Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey). She also served as chairperson in the process of foundation of the Turkey Research Center (TAM) at Aydin University of Istanbul. She currently holds the positions of Head of Department of Public Relations and Advertising at Çankaya University in Ankara.

She has been elected as Deputy of Istanbul and Şanlıurfa, respectively during the 22nd and 24th legislative periods and was served as chairperson of various International Commissions within the Turkish Grand National Assembly. During her political career, she has held the positions of Deputy Chairperson of the Department of Public Relations and Department of R&D of AKP (Justice and Development Party) between 2002 and 2018, as well as being a member of the Central Decision and Executive Board (MKYK). She was also the senior adviser to the AKP leader.

She currently holds numerous positions within national and international bodies, institutions and civil society associations operating in the academic and social fields, serving as Board Member of the Turkish National Commission for UNESCO, Chairperson of the UNESCO Expert Committee for Gender Equality, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the Yıldız Palace Foundation (YSV), Vice-president of the Committee for the Euro Mediterranean Partnership of Local and Regional Authorities (COPPEM), member of the International Communication Association (ICA), founding member of the Hazar Association of Culture and Education, founding member of the Administrative Board of the Avrasya Association of Sociologists.

She has received several awards and acknowledgements, among which the Order of the Star of Italian Solidarity, and she has authored, collaborated in and edited ten books, numerous articles and many other publications on communication, sociology of communication, political communication, intercultural communication, public diplomacy and nation branding.

Avrupa Ödüllü Kenan Yavuz Etnoğrafya Müzesi Danışma kurulu üyesidir. İyilik İçin Sanat Derneği üyesi, sanat danışmanı ve küratörüdür. “Galerimiz” ve başka galerilerle sanat projeleri ve sergi küratörlüğüne devam etmektedir.

Yedi Kültür Sanat, Artsclubistanbul, Maison28, L’atelier, Artkolik gibi kültür sanat platformlarında tablo analizi dersi, sanat akımları dersi ve koleksiyonerlere ve kurumlara de özel sanat tarihi dersi vermektedir. Leaving his position at IU English Language and Literature Department in 1989, he worked at İKSV as Press Attaché/Press and Public Relations Director/Corporate Communications Director and Advisor to the President, respectively (1989-2011). At the same time, he served as the Turkey Network President of ANNA LİNDH FOUNDATION, an EU institution on behalf of IKSV, a Member of the Board of Directors of LES RENCONTRES, also under the EU umbrella, and a consultant at the MERCOURI FOUNDATION. He played an active role in the initial phase of the ISTANBUL 2010 EUROPEAN CAPITAL OF CULTURE- project, where he served as the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and the Director of International Relations. She founded the 41-29 ISTANBUL Association. She gave conferences on consultancy and Cultural Policies in the field of Culture and Art. She is the recipient of the Order of the Hungarian State and the European Cultural Award.

Ozan Özkan, born in Istanbul in 1971, graduated from the Faculty of Communication at Marmara University after graduating from the French school of Saint Joseph with the first rank.

A&B took part in the promotion. He worked as a manager in Saydam PR. In 2009, he established the Manifesto Public Relations Agency.

Born in Mersin in 1989, his roots are nomads. He received his primary and secondary education in Mersin. He then took on high school and college and cooking. With these trainings, his business life started and he started to move away from his roots physically. As he moved away physically, he became closer to his roots mentally and spiritually. After the country’s good hotels like Four Seasons, Mövenpick, he worked as a cook in similar hotels like Shereton in America.

After returning to Turkey, she started working with Murat Bozok between 2008-09. In the meantime, he began to discover the dimensions of gastronomy and its capillaries descending to the bottom.

It started to use the small ingredients of the nomadic cuisine for the first time in murat bozok’s restaurant in 2009. While working with Murat Bozok, he also had the opportunity to explore many points of Turkey with projects such as hotels and catering.

He tried to analyze not only gastronomic discovery, but sociologically and anthropologically.

Meanwhile, he arranged an internship in Sao Paola, Brazil, where he interned with Alex Atala, who was chosen as one of the best in the world. The important point of this place was a restaurant chef who turned the inspiration they received from the Amazon into an experience.

In order to adapt her nomadic and Anatolian roots to the new lifestyle of the world in her own life in Deniz, she needs to see the person who has done this before, that’s why she chose a D.O.M restaurant next to “Alex Atala” and did her internship.

On top of that, he did an internship with NOMA rene redzepi in Copenhagen, saying how can a non-existent gastronomic destination do this job without roots.

Meanwhile, he saw how to create a destination with forageing philosophy.

Even though he did not live a life of immigration, the genes inherited from his family constantly sparked him to travel.

He filled all his savings in his saddlebag and returned to the country. Kemal Demirasal opened the “alancha” Alacati, a gastronomic experience far ahead of its time.

Alancha was a collector’s kitchen, and its brand was appreciated by making ice cream and clover soup from pine trees on the hill where it is located.

Later, alancha opened to Istanbul and Deniz turned from the foraging kitchen to the researcher root kitchen.

With the title of an Anatolian story, alancha continued on its way to Istanbul.

And Deniz founded Alaf in 2018 to fly with his own wings.

Deniz expressed his experience from the name Alaf as “a migration story fed by its roots”.

Because it became a restaurant where he expressed his identity both as a collector and as a nomad.

In the Alaf yoruk dialect, embered flame on the sides of Anamur was the most appropriate expression since they used wood fire in the shop.

Then, “Yoruk studio” started a new life in 2023 as a textile brand startup, combining its Yoruk roots with the designs of the day.

Finally, Alaf2tek, the last representatives of the neighborhood in Istanbul and Izmir, established Alaf2tek to bring Tektekçi shops back to life.

Now, with alaf, alaf2tek,yorukstudio, it expresses its identity through gastronomy with different brands scattered from its own roots.
