“CARPENTER AND BARBER MUHARREM YAVUZ

Muharrem Usta, the elder brother of Şamil Yavuz, the grandfather of the museum founder Kenan Yavuz, performed the profession of barber as well as the profession of carpenter. He ran this shop until 1986, when he got the mercy of the right. Muharrem Usta, who was born in 1895, was also one of the witnesses of the suffering experienced in this land in 1915.
His shop was also a place of conversation. The extinction of the small artisan tradition also brought about the extinction of a well-established culture. Now there are not people, but items in the places of today’s world and in the huge places where we shop.
As the buildings got bigger, the people got smaller.
