\nKenan Yavuz Ethnography Museum, which was founded by business person Kenan Yavuz in Be\u015fp\u0131nar Village, was registered as a private museum by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in 2019 and remained closed for 2 months due to the pandemic, opened its doors to its visitors with a special festival.
\nThe scythe festival was organized in accordance with the establishment purpose of the museum, which includes home life and old agricultural goods that are about to be forgotten. Citizens both cut grass and sang folk songs at the festival organized to keep the tradition of cutting grass with scythe in mountainous areas, especially in the Eastern Anatolia Region.
\n“WE WILL ORGAN MANY FESTIVALS”
\nKenan Yavuz, the founder of the museum, stated that he is trying to take on the task of preserving the “old life” and making it visible in the “new life”. Explaining that they laid the foundation of the museum in 2003, Yavuz said, “We are working to bring the beauties of Anatolia and the parts of our past lives to the present.
\nThe aim of our museum is to return to the roots. In the past, sharing the imece method was one of the most beautiful traditions of Anatolia, this tradition is actually one of the most important elements of our belief. For this purpose, we organized the scythe festival and opened the museum.
\nWe both sang and cut grass. I think that tourism will shift to a cultural ground after the pandemic. In other words, the idea of \u200b\u200btourism locked in the triangle of sea, sand and sun will change. Therefore, I want to direct this museum towards the future. In addition, we will have many other festivals after the scythe festival. “We will organize festivals that symbolize the social and cultural life in the past.”
\nSelim Aktan, who cuts grass at the festival, said, “It was a nice activity. I used to mow with a scythe, we remembered the old days. I hope this kind of activities will continue.”
\nKENAN YAVUZ ETHNOGRAPHY MUSEUM
\nIn Turkey, a period of major companies in the business of people who served as CEO Kenan Yavuz, the houses in the village of Bayburt attached to the center Be\u015fp\u0131nar was born and raised many years ago launched an initiative to transform the museum.
\nYavuz, who specially designed the house and the 7 acres of land around it, created traditional village houses, mills, mansion, amphitheater, cinema hall, library, local kitchen workshop, village coffee house and an indoor and outdoor museum that houses the traces of rural life.
\nThe house, which was converted into a museum, and the Dede Korkut Turkish Identity Library and an area where agricultural tools are exhibited are located in its surroundings.
