“Those who left the villages and migrated to the city, made a living. Then they came to visit their\nvillages having had the financial distinction. Some also made distorted and soulless concrete\nbuildings of the city in their villages to stay during their summer holidays.\nThose who stayed in the village as they could not go to the city, took example of the new concrete\nhouses they\u2019ve seen and destroyed the traditional village houses and buried them in concrete as\nwell.\nThe founder of the museum, Kenan Yavuz in his letter goes:\nThere is no village left, no fountain\nNeither the mansion nor the house remained\nWe destroyed the henna stone and carried concrete from the cities to our villages\nStone and earth meant poverty, and concrete meant wealth!\nThe apocalypse of our villages has happened.\nGrandpa and Grandma\nWith \u015eAmil and M\u00fcnevver\nMom and Dad\nAlime and Mecit\nMy eight aunts\nMy sisters and brothers\nI was born and raised in this house\nThe voice of my aunts who love me \u201cmy sweetie\u201d in my ears\nThank God for bringing you to this world, my grandmother says in my dreams\nAt the beginning of the tandoor, I remember my mother’s warm lap, which I pretended to have\nfallen asleep so that I would be carried to my bed. The voice of my grandfather, who said \u201ccome on\nget up it is nearly noon\u201d before the sun actually has even risen, lives in my longing for the loving\nlooks mixed with anger of my beautiful father, who has prepared an ox cart to go to the field\noutside and is waiting for me\nI wanted our house to be moved to the centuries to come.\nLet it be an example and let there be one village house in the future world\nWho knows, maybe our grandchildren will wash these ugly and soulless piles of concrete\nAnd they will rebuild our villages.\nThis house is an exact replica of the house in which the museum founder Kenan Yavuz was born\nand raised in. Having used only stone\/wood and soil, the house to date is one of the rarest\nauthentic Anatolian houses.”<\/p>\n
